Yeah. So.
District OMEA contest was held yesterday at Shawnee State in Portsmouth, Ohio, and as usual, our Symphonic band attended. My Freshman year we went in class C and got a 1. This year we went in Class B, which is a step-up.....and got a 2. T_T The problem is, no one can figure out why. We did an awesome job, and even got a 1 in sightreading ( a rare thing for us ) but on the floor we got two 2s and a 3. A 3? T_T We're not THAT bad. >_> But yeah....I guess the judges must have had a reasoning, but I don't know it.We'll find out Monday when we listen to the comment tapes though.....THAT oughtta be fun. >_>

On the bright side, we did beat Welston. ^ ^ Although how THEY got a 3 is beyond my understanding, because as much as it pains me to admit it, they're usually better than we are. -_-' I dunno. There's been some really nasty stuff going around this neck of the woods lately....everyone was sick, so...I dunno. It's just a bit of a downer....we rehearse our pieces for three months and work ourselves up so much for this thing, and then not to get a 1, especially when you're SURE you will.....it sucks. ^ ^'' Ah well. Contest is over now, at any rate, and now for the next three months we get to focus on the exciting activity of various fundraisers, begging people for money so we can go to Cedar Point this Spring. And next spring, DISNEYWORLD! ^_^
